Common Firsts to Experience

THE FIRST-YEAR SEMINAR

All new WVU students complete a First-Year Seminar course to help them transition to college. Catered to each school or college, the coursework, experiences and learning outcomes may look differently for each seminar, but all students will learn more about life at WVU, academic programs, career pathways and information on how to succeed inside and outside of the classroom. Successful completion of a FYS is required to graduate.
