  Channing is a West Virginia native, hailing from Monroe County and serves as an Academic Program Coordninator for First-Year Experience, which is housed within the Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success. He assists in developing curriculum, supporting student success initiatives, and engaging with first-year students through academic and co-curricular programming. He also coordinates the Bridge Living-Learning Community in Lincoln Hall, providing guidance and support to students as they transition into college life. 

  He comes from a background in education and environmental & historical interpretation, having spent time as both a teacher and a Park Ranger. These experiences fuel his passion for connecting with students, building community, and helping others find purpose in their academic journey.

  • B.A. in Multidisciplinary Studies – Concentrations in History, Appalachian Studies, and Recreation, Parks, Tourism, and Resources; West Virginia University 

  • M.A. in Public History with a Certificate in GIS & Spatial Analysis; West Virginia University
